Sorry about my psuedo-political exclamation in my last post. Ugh. It takes a lot to frustrate me, but if that bill gets through the Senate. I. Will. Be. PISSED.

Also, regarding the Saturn Awards. LOST won. Adrian Pasdar won. (Various movies I like won). Pretty neat. And Adrian looked gorgeous (as usual). ~*dreamy sigh*~

In other news, while in the middle of my Babylon 5-a-thon, I decided I should *finally* watch TRON because of the LULZ, well, and because Bruce Boxleitner (who's in B5) and other cool peeps like David Warner and Jeff Bridges are in it. Well, IT'S THE BEST MOVIE EVER I'VE DECIDED. Reminds me a lot of Computer Warriors, which, in effect, reminds me of my early childhood.
OH - AND THE FACT THAT A SEQUEL (tentatively titled TR2N) IS BEING MADE IS LOOOOOL!AWESOME. Especially because Daft Punk (!!!!) is doing the soundtrack.

Speaking of TRON, this YTMND is ACE. (Excellent crossover).

I will watch the pilot for the new show Virtuality some time tomorrow night. I missed it today, but it looks promising. Anything scifi is good in my book. I'm easy to please like that.

The media frenzy over MJ's death is sickening, BTW. I can't believe they're getting away with half the shit they're showing/saying. Just remember his legacy, okay guys? At least wait a month to bring out the big guns. Sheeeeesh.

Oh man, bikram yoga tomorrow morning. I hope I survive again.

True Blood and other stuff

Yeah, I knew I'd get addicted to True Blood. I just watched the entire first season in three days. (And I am not even a big vampire fan). Plus, I'm reading the books. Help.

Well... it started off a little rocky, from a story-telling, direction, writing point-of-view, but it definitely picked up (and damn, the show has a way of pulling you in with those damn cliff-hangers). My main complaint with the show is that the relationships bud and burn out way too quickly, but I suppose that's partly the books' fault (yeah, people shack up waaaay too quickly... and then gets into love-tiffs a lot).

I do like that the TV series is already setting up for the Eric/Sookie/Bill love triangle, but I wish season one had shown more clearly why Eric has such an intense interest in her (I guess I just wanted more Eric in general this season).

Speaking of la protagonista, I really liked Sookie at the beginning, but near the end I just wanted to strangle her. She's far too selfish to warrant the affections of Bill and Sam. They're way too good for her (but I'm sure there are a lot of people who would disagree with me there). Bill killed another vampire to protect Sookie, then, against his better judgment, turned Jessica into a vampire... all for her! And then Sookie goes and yells at him and starts making out with Sam (which is unfair to Sam, because he keeps getting used like a sex toy to make the girls feel better).
I don't know... she just rubs me the wrong way - but hopefully that will get ironed out in season two, because I love Sookie in the books, just... tv!Sookie is... kind of a bitch.

Speaking of Jessica - who is she? She isn't in the books, so I'm assuming she's an add-on. Kind of like the Amy character this season. Speaking of add-ons - Maryanne? I'm assuming she's the maenad, but... what? Hmm... I'm interested to see how they integrate her into the show next season.

Oh - and can Jason die already? I have never hated a character in anything so much. (Well, I hate him in the books too - so, no surprise there).

I want to like Tara. She's smart, funny, and has the potential to be an interesting character, but her storyline was so one-note. Because of her problems at home (and with herself) she'd go to Sam, bang him, walk out on him all bitchy-like, then start to feel better, then the cycle would start all over again. It's probably because the show writers didn't bank on Tara's storyline from the books (where she runs a clothing store, gets married, etc.) I hope they don't hook her up with Sam anymore next season, and manage to give her a more engaging plot.

I also want to love Sam - he's sweet, brave, and turns into a dog(!), but the show makes it difficult when he's always pining for Sookie and getting lured into being used. I think he's much more... toned down in the book series. I still like him though.

Love Lafayette (not gonna think about the ending... cuz I know what happens D:), Hoyt and Terry. They're great. Arlene is not that likable, but the character is necessary, so... I deal with her. Haha!

There are some things I wished they'd kept from the books - like the fact that Bill can levitate and Sookie can't hear direct thoughts all the time (esp. with Sam - which all she can get are vague impressions and feelings), but maybe we'll see some of that in season two.

.... I need to buy HBO now. Need. More. Now.

Gah! I have fallen behind on my flist again (as per usual). I'll get on that.

Anyway, nothing much else is going on. I watched The Birdcage with my friends last night (the first time I've seen the movie - it was LOLtastis), but other than that I've mostly been chillin' indoors (I still can't do much else) - so in front of the TV it is. Now, I need to catch up on NCIS. I practically haven't watched any of it.

It wasn't as wonderful the second time around, but I still enjoyed it thoroughly. (And this time I was paying attention for Majel's voice).

Also - question for my Trekkie friends: Were the blue jumpsuit uniforms at the beginning (the ones they were wearing on the U.S.S. Kelvin) showing the transition from the NX-01 ("Enterprise" era) uniforms to the TOS-era uniforms?

I also read the first two books of The Southern Vampire Mysteries (you know, the Stookie Stackhouse books), and my mom and I bought the first season of True Blood on DVD (plus a free t-shirt!), so I am gonna watch those soon. Also - I'm going to catch up on Fringe. I am extremely behind (as in, only-seen-episode-one behind).

How is everyone else doing? I am gonna go catch up on my flist.

What's up? The reason you may have seen me floating around a lot of LJ recently is cuz I'm kinda on bed-rest. I can't really do anything except watch TV (which... I really haven't been doing, but I should cuz I need to catch up on NCIS and start 30 Rock) and play online so... I've been playing online for so long I think mushrooms have grown on my feet. I NEED TO MOVE MAH ASS.

In addition, in between joining ontd_lost and ontd_startrek my flist looks like

IT'S TOO MUCH AT ONCE.

Speaking of Star Trek, I've been watching some good old Star Trek: Deep Space Nine today. I love this show - well... more specifically I love Bashir and O'Brien and their epic BFF-ness (I do not slash them, but I love them as friends ♥ THEY ARE THE CUTEST EVER OMG).

I think the reason I haven't completely dived into the new Star Trek (XI) fandom is because it's so freaking active right now omg it's intimidating. TOO MUCH GOING OOOON. First, I need to get me some XI icons. I'll do that later.

My brain is still on LOST too. Yeah. Still melted crispy after the finale. I will make a spec post at some point I'm sure since I've been thinking about it a lot. I think I've figured out some stuff... Hmmm...

Anyway, I'll comment more on the flist tonight. Right now I need to get away (away!!) from my computer for a while.

How is everyone else doing?

Star Trek? Totally awesome. Go watch it now.
As a hardcore Trekkie, I can safely say this series appeases me. Lots of easter eggs for us old fans.

Okay, first? I gotta say the characters were pretty well done. LOVED the new!Bones. I mean, I couldn’t stand McCoy in the original series (he just seemed far too harsh or something… and DeForest Kelley was always slightly creepy to me), but I really enjoyed this one. Everything from his mild hypochondria and neuroticism. And his dislike of Spock (lol “are you out of your Vulcan mind!” – I loved the dropping of TOS quotes ;D)

Chekov was delightful. I remember reading that Yelchin decided to stick with Koenig’s accent (even though it’s totally incorrect). I really like how energetic he was in the film. Similarly, I love how they adhered to the fact that Sulu is a master of fighting styles (but I wish we could have gotten more of him).

Scotty was fun. I love Simon Pegg, but the little alien sidekick was so… bizarre. AND I WANTED MORE DRINKING. (lol I love him). I didn’t like that we didn’t get him until 2/3rd through the movie though.

--In addition, I actually liked that Scotty was separated from the group on the ice planet. It exemplified the whole course correction (lol LOST) that was going on following Nero borking everything all to hell. It showed that fate was going to happen anyway and the crew, as it was meant to be, would be united (however, technically speaking, Chekov shouldn’t have even been there, but I think they already retconned that with Wrath of Khan)

Zachary Quinto was perfect, but that was obvious. ;)

Chris Pine was gorgeous – and made a far more likeable Kirk than William Shatner (I know plenty of people would disagree with me, but Kirk was just a bit too hammish for me).

The inclusion of Pike was perfect. I loved it. And the ending with him in a wheelchair was a nice nod to his situation in "The Menagerie." (My brother and I nodded on that)

My main beef, and practically my only beef, was Uhura. I loved how they personified the other characters and brought their characteristics from the original series to life, but here I feel Uhura was sexified merely because she was a woman. I know the women on the original series were sexified plenty, but hey, it’s the modern era. I would’ve liked to have seen more of her actually working – not makin’ moves on Spock (which was also slightly WTF).

Loved the inclusion of Sarek and Amanda. ♥ But omg THEY KILLED HER. She isn’t supposed to die! (but then again, Vulcan isn’t supposed to implode either… damn. That was epic.)

So, while I like that this is in an alternate universe (which could explain any and all continuity errors), I think that fate definitely played a role in bringing it all together. And hey, we got OUR!Spock – the old one – Mr. Nimoy (omg, I almost cried when he said “I have been and always shall be your friend” holy shit ;_;).

And, best of all, THE PORTHOS EASTER EGG. OMG LOL. Scotty vaporized Porthos!

That’s it for now – next, I’ll read the reviews on my flist (and respond to some entries omg I am behind once more).
Thank you all for the wonderful birthday messages. ♥. Everything has been going well, perhaps a little slow, a little boring, but otherwise everything is good. :) Just been relaxing mostly (AND I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN WATCHMEN. I FAIL EPICALLY.) But yay! ♥ Also, still working on the replies. Oh, I am the slowest LJer in the history of LJers.

But now... time for an angry, angry and pretty much defeated "Heroes" post about recent... eh... spoilery developments? Don't read if you want to remain unspoiled.

According to the ODI and other sources, looks like the FYG-Universe is going to happen. I've been fearing this. Here's a link to the evidence. This + the Behind the Eclipse snippets + Ausiello spoilers = Nathan is going to bite it this season.

From the looks of things, Sylar is using some sort of shape-shifting ability (which we knows he steals later in the season) to pose as Nathan. Sure, this will make for an interesting villain in season five, but... it's just FYG stretched out for a season. Ugh.

Honestly, it sounds like a simple ploy to hang on to viewers. The show runners are well-aware that FYG was a fan-favorite -- however, I think they're missing the point. What I love so much about the episode was that it showed us the dark future that they averted. The whole first season exemplified the notion that "the future isn't written in stone." If this happens -- if it was all for nothing -- then that kinda steps all over everything they've worked towards. It's regressive, not progressive, and I'm not entirely fond of this.

Also, having Zach and Adrian playing the same character is just ridiculous. It's not fair to either of them, and it's going to cut their screen-time in half. Do. Not. Want.

The worst part? No more Peter/Nathan ~brotherly love~. Barring the ~romance~, the Petrelli-dynamic has always been one of the strong points of the show for me - and Nathan's death would just... Bah. Whatever.

I'm now just wrestling with whether I should stick out the rest of the season at least, or just stop watching now to spare myself the agony. Sure, there's always that small hope that this footage indicates a dream-sequence (perhaps Mama Petrelli premonition). Also, it's always possible that Nathan's not dead, just Sylar thinks he is (why would Sylar risk masquerading as a man who's still alive?), but... I just have a bad feeling. All the spoilers point to this happening.

And "Heroes" comes on today. I guess I just have to ask myself, is it worth it? idk.

ETA : I don't watch "Supernatural" much anymore, but this made me LMFAO. On E!Online they're conducting an "Alpha Male Madness" poll. In Game 2.6, Peter Petrelli is up against Sam Winchester. I just know fandom loves to draw parallels between them so it made me smile. Hahaha!
Oh, and go vote in the poll.

OMG the ANGST. I love that Nathan realizes he fucked this up good, and that he's all "I'm the only one who can stop it!" and Angela's like "um, no, it's fucked." WHAT DID SHE WHISPER TO HIM!?? If it's "you're gonna die" I'm gonna be very sad. ;_;
+ Even the Claire/Alex plot-line wasn't boring. It was actually kind cute. AND SANDRA, I LOVE YOU.
ICON TOTALLY APPROPRIATE.

LOST - This Place is Death

DUDE. FANDOM WAS TOTALLY RIGHT.

ELOISE HAWKING = FARADAY'S MAMA.

Sweetness.

AND YES AT UNEXPECTED!DESMOND THERE AT THE END. lol "what are you doing here???" "I suppose the same thing you are" HELLS YEAH.

I love Jin so much. OMG HIS HUG WITH SAWYER MADE ME SQUEE A THOUSAND SQUEES.

SMOKEY RETURNS!!! FUCK YEAH.

MONTAND LOST HIS ARM. This show is best at continuity.

Hmm... but I wonder what went on with Danielle's team. From this perspective it made Danielle look like the crazy one.

Charlotte died - but she remembers being on the island before. And WHOA trippy - Daniel was the crazy man who told her to stay away. Da hell.

AND WTF JACK'S DAD AT THE END. Okay, so, he's intangible, and unstuck in time, and... I AM CONFUSED.

CANNOT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK. <s>Barring icky shippy scene I saw in the promo.</s>

THEORY TIME

... I haven't done this with LOST in a while...

Here's my post on TWOP:

The fact that Daniel is the man who warns Charlotte not to return to the Island PLUS the fact that Locke is the one who told Richard to visit him totally EQUALS this is a causality loop.

In effect, the same events keep happening over and over and can't stop.

It wouldn't surprise me if the show ended by the present!characters subtly forcing their past!selves to get on Oceanic flight 815 in the first place.

Example, perhaps present!Jack kills his own father in the past, leading past!Jack to going to Australia in the first place. This way, Jack fits the whole "to be the leader of the Island, you must kill your own daddy" and also, it makes the whole cycle start over again.
... I sincerely hope this doesn't happen.

Overall, a solid episode though. Answered a lot of questions, and brought up some more. I'm puzzled by the Christian apparition. Either it's the smoke monster, Locke's craziness, or Christian's become some sort of Ghost that can traverse the space-time continuum. I'm kinda leaning towards Island/monster/something manifestation that's prodding Locke on his way. And the Christ-analogy gets stronger. Locke having to make it to the wheel himself, needing to sacrifice himself to save others... Veeerrrryyy interesting.

btw, the new Stations of the Cross = Stations of the Island. The Christ analogy really is prevalent on this show. And purpleperil noticed that the company name on the van was Canton Rainer, which is an anagram for "REINCARNATION"

duuuuuude, Locke is totally Jesus. (Sorry Desmond).

But yeah... totally calling the whole series being a loop. It explains the voices, it explains... pretty much everything except the fore-toed statue and the smoke monster.

ETA : THEORY FOR THE ENDING OF THE SHOW. I love theorizing. Hahaha! It's like crack. @_o

Heroes -- Trust and Blood

Heroes - Trust and Blood

So. Nathan. This episode made me feel a bit better if it is, in fact, Nathan at the helm. Here's my break-down.

A) Nathan's the real deal -- the original, true-blue, Nathan Petrelli.

If this turns out to be the case, I think this episode made me more... accepting of Nathan's new role and character turn, but... eh. Still rubs me the wrong way.

I could see this as a desperate attempt to fix what he sees a major "problem." He's seen the likes of Sylar and Baron Samedi running around. ALSO - if you think about it - he even saw Peter willing to team up with extremely violent people like Knox in order to stop Arthur, I think Nathan's scared of him. Nathan just wants to put a stop to that. However, there's a catch. He has to lock up *everyone*. --Including people he thinks are "friends."

But Nathan doesn't think things through. He honestly believes that the super-peeps will be treated "humanely" (in a concentration camps of sorts). UNFORTUNATELY, he decides to work with the Hunter, who's more psychotic than Sylar. I think, after this episode, Nathan has come to the realization that this isn't going to pan out as he expected. Why else was he on the phone with Angela? She's right, he's asking for help because he knows he fucked up.

While this still makes Nathan ~a very bad man~, he's not totally irredeemable. And I'm actually beginning to get *really* annoyed with people online who say "Nathan is an evil bastard! Crucify him!" while they give Sylar a free-pass by saying things like "LOL HE'S SO AWESOME WHEN HE'S EVIL. KILL THAT FAMILY!"
... Fandom makes my head-spin.

Although, Nathan's constant waffling on the welfare of his brother and daughter is... rather strange.

B) Nathan is actually Narthur

This is hinted at by Peter saying "He's not my brother and he's not your boyfriend" to Tracy, which could very well be true.

Similarly, Angela seems to know something is up. I would go so far as to say she is, in fact, Rebel (I've seen this theory bouncing around a lot).

In this case, I think Arthur is also having a ~morality crisis~. His weird behavior towards characters like Claire and Peter is indicative of this. He waffles between "Get rid of them" and "DON'T HURT THEM" -- very, very weird. It would kinda fit the explanation that this is Arthur trying to *be* Nathan. Eh, I dunno anymore.

Either way, Peter and Nathan need to kiss and make-up.

In other news, I really doubt Daphne is dead. NO BODY. NO DEATH. But... Matt did take Daphne's death rather well, considering.

Hiro and Ando are my lovers. OMG. So cute. They are my ray of sunshine in this entire mess (lol, that and the subtle ~Petrellicest~). Oh god, I love them.

I don't know how I feel about this whole Sylar + minion (Luke? rotfl) road-trippin'. Ehhhh, it's bizarre and tacked on. Hopefully there'll be a way to integrate this storyline with the main Fugitives story.

HRG is beginning to bore me. His motive is the same thing every season. "MUST PROTECT CLAIRE. MUST PROTECT FAMILY."

HRG (Heroes) = Michael (LOST)
"CLAAAAIIIIRRRREEEE!!" = "WAAAAAAALLLLTTTT!!"

Yep. That's how I see it at this point.

I really like Tracy's character. Dude, she's badass. I WANT TO SEE MOAR. I hope she busts out of that shit and kicks Nathan's ass.

Speaking of Nathan getting butchered, it would be totally wack if the season/volume ended with Nathan getting killed (shot, stabbed, whatever) only to have Arthur step out of his body. 10 BONUS POINTS IF PETER KILLS HIM. Oh, the angst. (This is assuming, of course, that Arthur body-snatched Nathan. There are other methods Arthur could've implemented to take over Nathan's body, including Candace's or Maury Parkman's abilities - although, that wouldn't quite explain why he doesn't go ahead and use those abilities and is stuck to using Nathan's flight only).

Hmm... now, here's some semi-spoilery evidence from Behind the Eclipse to support my speculation... TURN AWAY NOW IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO READ.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

On Behind the Eclipse, Week 12, this was written.

“In ‘Five Years Gone,’ Sylar stated that Nathan had turned against his own kind long before he killed him. Now, at the outset of ‘Fugitives,’ we see Nathan throwing his own kind to the wolves. With Nathan turning, and his political position coming close to the Presidency, and Sylar's reversion to evil, is it possible that the ‘Explosion Future’ of ‘Five Years Gone’ is starting to happen again, just without the explosion?”

In more ways than you could possible imagine.

The response here is interested to me. "In more ways than you could [possibly] imagine"? Well, in FYG, we do find out that Nathan wasn't the one behind all the evilness -- it was Sylar masquerading as Nathan. Perhaps, this is a hint that Nathan isn't who we think he is, but at the same time, Nathan was already beginning to turn on everyone (as indicated in "Dual" -- Nathan going to Peter and saying all the weird shit blah blah).

In Behind the Eclipse, Week 13, this is what they had to say in response to a question that should've been written by me:

“Will we be seeing that strange power Future Peter used at the beginning of ‘Villains’ again - the one which meant that Peter was trapped in Jesse's body? It seems too interesting and unusual not to come up again."

Aron Coleite & Joe Pokaski: Boy we feel the same way, Maggie. We keep trying to find an opportunity to use that power but there haven’t been any character-y reasons to pull the trigger on it. We came close to it happening at the end of villains, but no dice. As a consolation prize – we’ve got something even cooler in that milieu coming up at the end of the season. So Bob’s your uncle, Maggie. (We probably didn’t use that right, but we’re trying to sound British for you.)

Now, the writers say they were going to try and use it around the end of volume 3 (HMM, I WONDER WHY), but it didn't pan out. But they DO say that we will see something similar (or ~in that milieu~) at the end of the season.

I think these two indicate that things are not what they seem, surely. Whether that's Narthur, or something else entirely, I'm intrigued to say the least.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Now, I have got to get ready for class and stop speculating about "Heroes". To say the least, I am at least feeling a little better about this season - and it does have momentum.

GAH, but now I'm behind on "24" again. Hopefully I'll have a chance to watch it soon and respond to some "24" entries.

I have calmed down from my earlier "OMG I HAVE BEEN SPOILER’D" explosion. lost_cause_815 made me feel more at ease by reminding me that this show is notorious for foilers, and also, if anything happens, it could be turned around just as fast.

Also today, I watched Smokin’ Aces and promptly LOL’d massively at the LOST crew who decided to show up (Keamy, Richard, and Jack). So, Keamy’s turned into a strange neo-nazi and Richard and Jack have some homoerotic tendencies.

Ah, the movie was okay. I thought the visuals were pretty epic – especially at the end where they’re all storming the hotel. I was more interested in the weird assassin groups (Tommy Flanagan master-of-disguise guy, Nestor’s mustache’d torturer dude, the Tremor Bros. featuring Martin Keamy and new!Kirk, and the half-lesbian chicks), but the movie kept drifting back to Ryan Reynolds and Andy Garcia (wtf his accent?!) and they were PHAIL.
But the movie did provide many lulz, esp. with unexpected appearances by the LOSTies and people like Jason Bateman.

Although, Nestor? The mustache has got to go.
But I think Matthew Fox has it worse.

Although they did engage in some very close talking.

And groping

And the Tremor Bros? Well, this picture speaks for itself.

I always burst out in laughter when I look at it. Taken out of context? Classic. Dammit, now I want Keamy back on LOST.

What’s odd, this is the second movie I’ve seen recently with Kevin Durand – the other one was Mystery, Alaska which I randomly (and I mean randomly) saw with my friends over the break.
Well, actually seeing Mystery, Alaska wasn’t totally random – we were on our mission to see all of this mans:

movies. Don’t ask.

Well, while I'm posting pictures, dude, this pic of Michael Emerson almost made me break my face.

I couldn't love him more.

And I don't know how this pic missed me

NAVEEN ON A GUITAR SL'ASL;KFDS;L';SF
Dude, he should play with Adrian Pasdar some time. <s>PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.</s>

That was a random tangent.

Lost -- "The Little Prince"

SAWYER. YOU BREAK MY HEART, YOU BASTARD. I almost started crying. :(

And... my main squee?

JIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!

YES!!!!!!! ♥

And also?

ROUSSEAUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!

FINALLY, SOME DANIELLE BACK-STORY. I think the "sickness" that her French crew got was the ~nosebleeds~.

Speaking of which, Miles? Totally on the island before. Which means? He was totally born there. Which means? HE IS MARVIN CANDLES' SON. BOOOOOYYYAHHHHH!!

Jack-Kate-baby-goo-goo-gah-gah snooooooooze fest. I HATE THAT PLOTLINE. Just take the damn baby.

The only interesting thing going on in the Oceanic Six plotline is Hurley and Sayid's epic road-trips (which are only in my fantasy land) and Sun being all "imma gonna cut u, benny-boy"

Other than that, I could just watch the island crew all season.

Love. ♥

ETA :: Totally forgot my LMFAO moment:
SAWYER: THANK YOU LORD.
(STORM ERUPTS)
SAWYER: I TAKE IT BACK!!!

Still haven't watched "24" from Monday. I have it recorded -- but I was so busy on Monday. I only had time to watch "Heroes" (and even then, that was the result of a coin-toss lol). I'll hopefully get to post my thoughts later once the weekend comes around.

Heroes - "A Clear and Present Danger"

Eh... I dunno how I feel about this. I'm always up for a good fugitives story, and the characters seemed back to their old selves, but... idk.

I'll break it down.

PROS:
+ Ando is sexy on his bike. I love the idea of super!Ando. Actually, in general, I love the Hiro and Ando buddiness in this ep. The password? omg. ♥
+ Peter being a paramedic. Claire lookin' at college. NORMAL THINGS.
+ lol turtle.
+ HRG back to being his weird morally grey self.
+ lol Peter and Mohinder in a taxi, followed by Mohinder encountering some creepy guy and running out of his taxi. Ahhh... season one memories.
+ lol Petrellicest subtext. "I'll text you" "kiss my ass" Oh man.
+ Sylar is kind of backed to the way he used to be -- he's not full-blown crazy evil like the end of last season, and he's not suffering from the ~I'M A HERO~ complex.
+ PETER'S POWERS ARE WAY TONED DOWN. THANK THE LORD. He now has to ~touch~ to get powers. SWEET.

CONS:
- Just... eeehhh? I guess Nathan being all weird-o psycho and shit is really turning me off of this season already (I know, I know, I should reserve judgment... but it still bugs).
I can't even believe my own theory anymore (about Arthur possessing Nate). I mean, seriously? Nathan's doing just what he's said he'd do in season one -- rounding everyone up and shipping them off somewhere. I really do believe he thinks this'll be for the best, but damn, turning on his own brother? Cold, man. Ice cold. I guess I just find the change from season two Nathan into this... I mean... jeeeez.
- I can see where this season is going. This season is going to lead up to the Five Years Gone universe (sans explosion and sans Hiro's time-travel powers). It's going to get out of control, the heroes will be on the run from crazy insane government psychos, Nathan is probably going to get killed by Sylar and replaced (in the Five Years Gone style) and that's how the season is going to end, with volume 5 being the crew all decked in leather and whips and chains... (okay... maybe I went a bit too far there). I hope that last bit doesn't happen, because I love me some Nathan (even if he is kind of going off the deep-end) and it would be injustice to Adrian and Zachary to be stuck playing the same character (lol ridic).
... but I'm probably wrong. I hope I'm wrong. PLEASE LET ME BE WRONG FOR ONCE.

I think the only way I'll be totally on board with this season is if the government finds out Nathan's secret and starts hunting him too (JUSTICE). Also, Nathan needs to make up with Peter, like, yesterday. <s>They can start by kisses, and end with teh sex.</s> I can't stand them being angry at each other.

It was sweet that Nathan tried to protect Claire, but still. Why Claire and not Peter? Hmm... I kind of sense there is an ulterior motive here. Maybe Claire is just being protected to keep HRG on board? I have no idea anymore.

Overall, the premiere was better than I expected, but still... I hope they fix this whole Nathan-Peter-Angela-what the hell situation fast. (Yeah, I know, my love of Nathan and the Petrellis is clouding my judgment, but I can't help it).

We shall seeeeeee.

ETA: tze on TWOP put into words exactly why I find Nathan's change so off-putting. I just couldn't think of how to explain it:

Honestly, wasn't the initial POINT of Nathan that he fulfilled every stereotype of the Evil Politician but was really an awesome Hero underneath it all? I mean, yes he did some really Evil things, but he also hung with Hiro.

Very cute and funny (as is usual).

Random Comments:

Shawn re: ICD: "ewww they make those for men?" Hah!

Henry (paraphrased-ish): "I did everything I could to keep you off the pole." I love Henry Spencer and his unintentional double-entendre.

Shawn said "Dammit"! I'm not used to hearing him curse. Actually... I think that might be the first time he has. Hmm...

Oh man, I hate scenes of people burning. That freaked me out so bad (esp. with the screaming). But Gus dive-tackling bad!Fireman to the ground was epic.

I wonder if the Arson investigator lady is gonna return for another episode or not. Haha, her ~germaphobia~ -- but she fist-bumped with Shawn at the end. Cute. :)

Gus has a new dog - Lady Godiva. "It's a he." Which parallels Marvin Candle's jazzy tunes at the beginning of the episode? Haha! I wonder if his wife and child will show up the series.
Jack and Ben working together and stealing Locke’s corpse was great. I told you, Jack has a secret!fetish -- ~necrophilia~.

...So Ms. Hawking is Darth Sorceress Lady with a strange pendulum? And she’s Ben’s “boss” of sorts? Amazing. I totally love that she came back into the picture. I wonder what her motive is – same with Ben’s lady butcher friend Jill and all their minions.

Random Comments (I have no time to write a proper review):
-Faraday and Desmond are Team Time-Travel! (It’s like Doc Brown and Marty McFly or something). I love them.
-Hurley and Sayid are total BFFs. “Your friend’s pretty wasted.” Now I want to see some Hurley and Sayid fic where they’re partying down at a Frat or something.
-Hurley’s “I (heart) Shih-Tzus” made me smile.
-Sayid is badass – almost Jack Bauer level. I love Hurley’s description: “Crazy ninja moves and spy stuff.” AND ALSO: “I need a cool coat.” Mwah!
-Ana-Lucia appearing was awesome. “Libby says hi.” Ooooh man.
-Desmond & Penny. Awwwww. And Desmond jumping to the rescue after he had the dream/memory? ♥ *squee*.
-Speaking of Desmond, there wasn't enough of him. Hopefully that will change.
-The recurrence of the Virgin Mary statues was a great nod to season one.
-Also, I liked the appearance of “EXPOSE!”
-Sun is creepin’ me out. She doesn’t blame Kate, okay, but she definitely blames Jack. I wonder how she’s gonna receive the news when she hears they have to go back.
-Hurley’s story to his mom was great. I was laughing so hard. “Smoke monster.” “Hatches.” Brilliance. It’s pretty much what describing this shows plot is. And I love that his mom said “I believe you. I don’t understand you, but I believe you.” Awww.
-Ethan appearing out of the bush? I screamed. He creeps me out so bad.
-A hot-pocket is a lethal weapon.
-Richard needs to be a main character. I love Richard.

Questions:
-Where are Papa Shep and Claire?
-What is Ms. Hawking’s role in this? And the other Ben cohorts (like Jill the Butcher)?
-Who is after Aaron?
-Who was lobbing the flaming arrows from on high if not Dharma?
-What’s happening to Charlotte?
-Why don’t the Other’s age or move through time like the Losties?
-Who’s trying to kill Sayid and Hurley? The same people who killed Locke? Widmore’s peeps?

ETA :: I'll respond to my earlier post (the one before this) at a later time. ;) But I will make the gifties as promised. ♥
